The Change Begins With Us

As part of our senior research project, the seniors of Mountain Vista Governor's School were challenged to research and document what we believed was the most pressing issue to face our generation. From Medicare to workforce discrimination to foreign policy, the issues selected will most definitely be at the forefront of debate in years to come. Yet as we learned more about each of our very different topics, we also learned that they were all tied together by a common thread: partisanship. The disagreement and strugges that occur at all levels of government on all issues have prevented many great pieces of law from being enacted. While the burden of proof as to why this has occurred lies on both parties, it seems that each would rather point fingers at the other than to solve the problems at hand.

The 113th Congress was labeled the least productive in history. While our numbers are small, we hope to bring attention to this massive issue that, if it persists, will plague our generation with indecisiveness, frustration, and gridlock.

Unless we have anything to do with it.
