Foreign Policy Awareness

As our nation's influence increases around the world, the role our generation will play on the global stage grows more and more significant. Despite this, we often find ourselves ignorant of anything that goes on outside of our own country, unless it is sensational and exciting. Given the news media's tendency to only report on these sensational issues, the more fundamental (but less exciting) aspects to American foreign policy, such as trade relationships and peaceful collaboration, often pass unknown under the radar. As we step up to take our place in the world, it is our job to educate ourselves on the happenings of the world around us and assess how they will affect us, regardless of the ratings and viewers they garner in the media.
