Interest Groups/Iron Triangles
Interest Groups
Whether it's a group of Medicare enrollees, a group of doctors, or a group of pharmacists, Healthcare and Medicare legislation have major effects on them. These main groups, as well as many other smaller groups, spend money on campaigns and time lobbying in order to get their views across to Congress.

Iron Triangles
One of the biggest Iron Triangles involved in Medicare legislation is the relationship between the House Committee on Aging (congressional committee) , the
Social Security Administration (bureacracy), and AARP (interest group). The AARP donates money to political candidates in The Committee of Aging. The Committee on Aging proceeds to pass regulations benefiting AARP and discusses these regulations with the Social Security Administration. All three have a big influence on any Medicare legislation that entires the Capital.
